Functieomschrijving

We are looking for a Research Support Officer to join our established Research Support Office (RSO) within the Faculty of Law, Economics and Governance. You will support Academics in all stages of their career in applying for national and international grants and subsidies. With a strong focus on NWO and European funding, we are looking for an experienced Grant Advisor who will be designated to the Department of Law.

Wat ga je doen?
As a Research Support Officer, you’ll be expected to ‘hit the ground running’ with responsibility in the provision of all RSO support to the Department of Law. You will play a key role in the guidance and development of complex (inter)national consortium grant applications, personal grant applications, and contract research. You will become part of a small, dynamic team, that welcomes diversity in terms of background, skills and views.

You will :
  • Be responsible for all RSO support to the Department of Law with respect to research proposals and funding-related queries;
  • Manage the submission process of all research applications >20k including, but not limited to, budgeting, providing feedback on proposals and ensuring adherence to funders terms and conditions;
  • Work closely with departmental colleagues, project controllers and policy officers to optimize support for both pre- and post-award processes and to develop and streamline workflows;
  • Develop and host writing workshops, pitch trainings, and chair mock interviews for applicants.

Functie-eisen

You have:
  • At least academic or working and thinking level, degree level is preferable;
  • Experience within an academic setting, with a working knowledge of the research domain, preferably in a Research Support Office;
  • A thorough knowledge of European and Dutch grant conditions;
  • A pro-active, flexible, service-oriented attitude:
  • You work with precision and you are keen to learn;
  • Good social and tactical skills and the ability to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders;
  • The ability to communicate detailed and complex information in a concise and effective manner;
  • Excellent speaking, writing and editing skills in English and Dutch;
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines and help others to reach theirs.

Arbeidsvoorwaarden

  • an employment contract for an indefinite period;
  • a working week of 28 to 32 hours with a gross monthly salary of at least € 3,546 to a maximum of € 5,538 for full-time employment (scale 10 of the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities);
  • 8% holiday pay and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%;
  • a pension scheme, partially paid parental leave and flexible employment conditions based on the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities.
