Our researchers acquire their own research assignments from funding bodies such as NWO (the Dutch Research Council) and the EU. Think of themes such as sustainability, food safety and the relationship between people and their environment. As a Grant Advisor, you are the first line of support when it comes to the procedural and legal-financial-administrative aspects of research proposals and contracts. You are the sparring partner for the project leader and you have legal and financial insight and a hands-on mentality.

You will be part of the Liaison Office team and in this role you will be the point of contact for several departments within the Social Sciences department (part of the Social Sciences Group) of Wageningen University & Research (WUR). You will work 32 hours per week.

Your main tasks are:

• guiding researchers in submitting grant applications and thereby also becoming familiar with the content of the research;
• understanding the (legal and financial) frameworks, conditions and processes of the funder and ensuring that the proposal meets the set frameworks;
• preparing simple budgets and quotations for national and international grant applications, assignments and tenders;
• coordinating, as the key link holding everything together, the submission process of grant applications, assignments and tenders in the legal-administrative field and in consultation with researchers, partners, funders and project controllers;
• assessing external research contracts such as cooperation agreements and drafting (standard) contracts. For complex issues you can rely on lawyers within the Liaison Office.

To be the right addition to the team, you have:

• a relevant completed bachelor’s degree, for example in Management, Economics and Law (MER) or a similar legal and/or financial program;
• demonstrable relevant work experience as a (grant) advisor or paralegal; knowledge of and experience with acquisition processes. Familiarity with NWO grant programs and the European Framework Programme for research and innovation (Horizon Europe) is an advantage;
• affinity with the research areas of Wageningen University & Research; the ability to switch effortlessly between Dutch and English.

You work meticulously and independently, with a creative-analytical mindset. You know how to combine this with a pragmatic and results-oriented approach and are able to set the right priorities. In addition, you keep a close eye on deadlines and perform excellently under time pressure.

In our international working environment there is an increasing amount of communication in English. For this position it is about language level C1.

We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between €3,482,- and €4,929 for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 9). As for your contract, we initially offer a one-year contract that can be extended - if possible within (company) organizational circumstances - on good performance.
