Job description

You will be responsible for the financial, project, and personnel administration of the Marketing and Consumer Behaviour (MCB) and Business Management & Organisation (BMO) chair groups. You will act as the first point of contact for staff members and support departments regarding finance, HRM, and project-related matters. In general, your responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining a solid financial overview, identifying trends, providing proactive information to the chair holders, and serving as the central contact person within the MCB and BMO groups;
  • Maintaining active and effective contact with the HRM department, Liaison Office, and Project Control, and corresponding with funding organizations;
  • Processing and analyzing financial data, monitoring budgets, and preparing external reports; supporting the chair holders with data and analyses for the budgeting process of both groups;
  • Supporting project leaders with data for acquisition, project budgeting, and project management, while closely monitoring project budgets in collaboration with the project controller;
  • Preparing appointments for new staff members and keeping track of time allocation, as well as sick leave and vacation records.

Requirements

You have:
  • A relevant degree at higher professional education (HBO) level (e.g., Business Administration) or equivalent thinking level combined with financial training or demonstrable financial experience;
  • Proven financial insight and administrative work experience;
  • Good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written;
  • Experience with MS Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to quickly learn new software systems.

You are proactive, flexible, and resourceful, able to set priorities and work accurately. You are decisive and see yourself as a connector, proactively seeking collaboration with direct colleagues and other departments. Experience in a coordinating role within a complex organization such as a university is highly valuable.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year.

Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between €3,382.- and €4,484.- for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 8). This position is for 20 hours per week. You will initially receive a one-year contract, with the prospect of extension upon satisfactory performance.
