Are you a finance professional with experience at the intersection of financial processes, management information and IT systems? And would you like to use your expertise to work together with a team of independent professionals on further strengthening the financial operations of Wgeningen University & Research (WUR)?
You have experience with financial management information and IT systems, and you have a good sense of relationships within a complex organisation. You are involved in a wide range of projects. Whether it concerns AI, dashboarding/Power BI or ERP systems, you feel at home in this domain. You are the connecting factor between users (controllers/managers) and technology (the IT department and external suppliers). You think from the perspective of the (financial) user, listen to the needs of all stakeholders and translate these needs into smart IT solutions.
Above all, you safeguard progress, maintain control over quality and results, and you are both a doer and a thinker. You know that successful projects are about people, not just technology. You value the fact that your work directly contributes to an organisation that is building a better society.
A challenging role in a complex environment, in which your work is essential for reliable management information, sound financial processes and good governance. Do you recognise yourself in this? Then we are looking for you as our new Advisor Finance & Information Management.
As Advisor Finance & Information Management, you will focus on the following:
- You advise management, controllers and the IT organisation on the optimal design of financial processes and information systems
- You initiate and lead improvement and digitalisation projects
- You contribute to the development of policies and frameworks for data quality, information management and system integration within the financial domain
- You maintain contacts with the decentralised financial operations organisation regarding the bottlenecks they experience
- You act as the point of contact for periodic management information within WUR
- You monitor and identify new opportunities for the use of advanced IT applications to optimise existing processes
Your role
You will be part of the corporate team Financial Accounting & Internal Control (FAIC). The team supports WUR in achieving its objectives by properly designing and controlling financial processes. The team consists of eight finance professionals, including the manager. Four colleagues specialise in second-line project control. In addition, the team includes an internal auditor, a tax controller/fiscal specialist and a support staff member.
