TUCCR is a public-private partnership where experts, professionals, entrepreneurs, researchers, and students from industry and knowledge partners collaborate to deliver talents, innovations, and know-how in the domain of cybersecurity. Its founding partners are Betaalvereniging Nederland, BetterBe, Cisco, NCSC, NDIX, Northwave, SIDN, SURF, Thales, TNO, and the University of Twente. We have the ambition to expand the network of partners further and for our centre to be one of the top cybersecurity research & innovation centres in the Netherlands. TUCCR is sustained by researchers and professionals from various disciplines including computer science, behavioural and social sciences, quantum physics, electrical engineering and mathematics. We are jointly providing Cybersecurity education for more than 1,000 students in our computer science bachelor and master programs. For more information about TUCCR here.

Role
The Impact Developer is responsible for strengthening the innovation impact of TUCCR and the external profile of TUCCR. The Impact Developer drives the uptake of TUCCR research results by companies and startups and showcases TUCCR by actively engaging with researchers, and helping them to connect with the university's communication department to demonstrate the impact of our research. They manage relationships with our industry and public sector partners, actively seek out and acquire new partners, seek out research and innovation funding and assist researchers in submitting proposals. Next to this, the Impact Developer supports management of TUCCR through the execution and supervision of operational, financial, and administrative tasks. The Impact Developer is part of a team of Impact Developers in other fields and disciplines. They collaborate with the faculty and departmental staff responsible for administration, legal and finance.

Tasks
  • Managing relationships with industry and public sector partners, actively seeking out and acquiring new partners and the organisation of stakeholder meetings and showcase events.
  • Identifying research and innovation funding opportunities and supporting our researchers in submitting successful proposals, engaging with partners to ensure adequate co-funding of research proposals.
  • Identifying opportunities to transition our research into practice through technology transfer to partners and the establishment of startups.
  • Orchestrating and supervising the impact and communication of TUCCR activities, amongst others via dedicated events, the press, the TUCCR website, newsletters, and social media, with the support of the university's communication department.
  • Supervising administrative, legal, and financial processes related to TUCCR activities, contracts, and finances in collaboration with the faculty and departmental staff.
  • Support the day-to-day management of the TUCCR organisation.

Requirements

  • You have completed a STEM education at MSc level with a significant computer science component, possibly complemented by business administration, business management, or similar education;
  • You have an interest in cybersecurity and a passion for ensuring the future security of Dutch and European society;
  • You are able to support the translation of conceptual (cybersecurity) innovation project ideas into concrete work plans.
  • You have a proactive and hands-on attitude with very good analytical and communication skills;
  • You work independently, take initiative and function well as part of a team;
  • You are internationally oriented and have a good command of the Dutch and English languages both in speaking and writing;
  • Finally, you are an enthusiastic colleague who finds a friendly atmosphere in the team important and would like to help make a success of all activities of TUCCR.

Conditions of employment

  • We offer a position for 32 - 40 hours per week. We offer a position with an initial contract of one year, with the prospect of a permanent contract after a positive evaluation;
  • Our terms of employment are in accordance with the Dutch Collective Labor Agreement for Universities (CAO) and include a holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and a year-end bonus of 8.3%;
  • Depending on your relevant background and experience, the gross monthly salary on a full-time basis ranges from € 4.332,-- to € 5.929,-- per month;
  • A minimum of 29 leave days in case of full-time employment is based on a formal workweek of 38 hours. A fulltime employment in practice means 40 hours a week, therefore resulting in 96 extra leave hours on an annual basis;
