Functieomschrijving

We are looking for an enthusiastic new Radiologist!

You will join a friendly, motivated, and highly qualified imaging team. Five board-certified Radiologists are supported by four residents and a highly trained and extremely capable team of 15 technical staff (who run all CT and MRI acquisitions). Excellent mentoring is offered to new staff, particularly to newly-qualified Diplomates or post-trainees. The applicant will be appointed with the primary focus to be actively contributing to the clinical service and related duties. Our department is physically situated between the Small Animal and Large Animal clinics, which enables efficient communication and a collegial rapport with the other 50-60 boarded specialists in both the hospitals.

Your duties will include radiographic, ultrasonographic, MR, CT, nuclear medicine and fluoroscopic interpretations. This role would suit both small animal trained and small and large animal trained Radiologists. The appointee will play an important role in the exciting future development and expansion of the diagnostic imaging service. We are expanding our already extensive collaboration with the adjacent UMC to facilitate exciting prospects for expansion of our existing state of the art equipment. We also offer exciting possibilities to conduct cutting-edge research, particularly within the Faculty research programmes in "Regenerative Medicine, Stem Cells and Cancer" and "Applied Veterinary Research".

Every effort has been made to ensure a proper work/life balance for our diplomates and whilst our residents do most of the weeknight duties, this post will include some compensated weekend and night duties. The University collective agreement allows excellent time off with an average of 35 days (7 weeks!) holiday in addition to public holidays. There is an excellent pension scheme, partially paid parental leave and flexible employment conditions. Our reward package also includes time off clinics for study and research, health insurance benefits and a range of employee discounts.

We have an international staff so English is the dominant language on the work floor and NO Dutch language skills are initially required! Although language courses are available free of charge.

We are open to discussion and are ready to tailor the role to the correct candidate.
