Job description

The Molenaar group has obtained a significant number of highly competitive national and international research grants (ERC start, Vidi, NWO project grant, KWF fellowship, KiKa, H2020, IMI2, TRANSCAN2, EraPerMed, EraSysOrgMed, etc). In addition, we are participating in a large number of European consortia (ITCC, SIOPEN, COMPASS, ANR etc). In collaboration with these consortia we are planning to initiate several new European based grant proposals.

We are looking for a project controller on post doc level that is well aware of Dutch and European grant regulation and logistics. The project controller will be responsible for the reporting on running grants and will be actively participating in logistics and writing of a large European consortium grant application with the Princess Maxima Center as leading institute.

Requirements

For the offered position, we are looking for a highly enthusiastic and motivated post-doc with interest in pediatric cancer research. You have expertise in grant writing and reporting and you are a conscientious person with a high responsibility. You like to collaborate and support other researchers and you are keen on clear communication with colleagues about research and science.

Conditions of employment

A temporary, full time position (36 hours a week) as a postdoc. You will start on a temporary position for the duration of one year that -when satisfactory- will be extended. Your gross monthly salary will depend on experience and background with a maximum of EUR 4.466,- (scale 60). The Princess Máxima Center operates according to the collective labour agreement ‘cao algemene ziekenhuizen’.

The center brings together the best possible care and scientific research, creating a unique interdisciplinary institute for pediatric oncology in Europe.

Department

Research group of Jan Molenaar

The research group of Jan Molenaar at the Princess Maxima Center is specialized in translational research in pediatric solid tumors with a focus on Neuroblastoma. To this purpose we have developed an experimental pipeline which starts with basic molecular biologic research and ends with implementation of new treatment options for pediatric cancer patients. Crucial in this pipeline is the use of high throughput analysis including WGS, scRNAseq, compound screening etc. We are running the compound screening facility in the Maxima and we have initiated the iTHER precision medicine program for pediatric cancer, which has just included 100 patients. Recently we have started a research line on immunologic model systems and interventions in Neuroblastoma.
