We are looking for an experienced Head of the Communications Office, who has ample experience with communication processes in academic organizations. He or she will be managing a team of 6-7 employees. The team is responsible for processes regarding communication, marketing, student recruitment, and admissions. The Head oversees all departmental processes and shows leadership in the team.
In our small academic organization the managerial part of the position will have to be combined with a hands-on mentality in all core processes. The Head will be the external media spokesperson of the college and in this capacity work closely together with the UCR Board (the Managing Director and the Dean of UCR).
The new Head of Communications will be characterized by a clear and innovative view on communication and recruitment processes in our international academic organization. Within UCR, the new Head will be a discussion partner for the communications and recruitment team, for the UCR Board and for the different academic departments in the areas of communication, marketing, admissions and (student) recruitment. The new Head of Communications will be expected to provide strategic advice and can translate wishes and needs into concrete communication and marketing policies. The Head reports to the Managing Director and the Dean of UCR.
We offer a temporary position (0.8 - 1.0 FTE: 32 - 40 hours per week) for one year initially with the intention to offer a permanent employment contract. The gross salary - depending on previous qualifications and experience - ranges between €3,637 and €5,656 (scale 11/12 according to the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities) per month for a full-time employment.
Start date preferably January 1, 2020. A secondment (detachering) contract could be discussed as a possibility.
Salaries are supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3% per year.
