Job description

As an International Marketing & Recruitment Officer you will be responsible for the implementation of Utrecht University’s marketing and recruitment plan for its English-taught Bachelor's & Master's programmes. Specifically, you will:

  • organize, prepare and host high school/ university visits on campus;
  • organize the international programme during the UU Open Days;
  • manage and maintain the International Student Panel through regular communication;
  • contribute to the university's social media channels (Facebook, Instagam, WeChat and Sina Weibo);
  • manage correspondence with prospective students through e-mail and social media;
  • represent Utrecht University during recruitment visits abroad;
  • organize and coordinate online and offline marketing communication events/activities;
  • work closely with our admissions, scholarship and alumni officers, and international marketing colleagues elsewhere in the organization.

Requirements

We are looking for a colleague with:
  • a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field;
  • experience with online content and social media development;
  • knowledge of and experience with marcom in an international environment is preferred;
  • outstanding command of the English language (spoken and written);
  • command of additional world-languages is appreciated;
  • excellent intercultural skills, organizational awareness and sensibility;
  • talent for (event)coordination and multitasking;
  • problem solving-, networking-, proofreading- and writing skills;
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • self-starter, out-of-the-box thinker, creative brain, energetic with a ‘can do’ attitude;
  • flexibility, high tolerance for change and prepared to work outside normal business hours.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally (10-25%).

Conditions of employment

We offer a temporary position (0.8 FTE) for one year, including a two-month trial period. The gross salary - depending on previous qualifications and experience  - ranges between €2,579 and €3,445 (scale 8  according to the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities) per month for a full-time employment.

Salaries are supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3% per year. The Communications and Marketing Office (DCM) advises the Executive Board and faculties on the development and implementation of policies aimed at strengthening the university’s communication and marketing capacity. You will become part of the Marketing Department which is responsible for the recruitment of Dutch and international students to our full degree Bachelor's and Master's programmes. The Marketing Department also develops new recruitment and marketing initiatives at institution- and faculty level.
