Job description

The Section of Methods & Matter (which comprises the Chairs of Methods and Analysis, Interiors Buildings Cities, Urban Architecture) in the Department of Architecture is offering a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor.

The Section conducts both MSc design studios and research projects  in urban areas, with an interest in how buildings and urban environments are experienced as well as affected by their inhabitants and passers-by. Taking the role of the architect as one that is socially engaged and locally specific, the Section is seeking for informed, cultured and engaged methods of thinking and practicing architecture. Both in research and education, the group has a strong interest in expanding the conventional architectural methods of drawing, writing and modelling by seeking connections with humanities, social sciences and other artistic disciplines.

We are particularly interested in an Assistant Professor who will complement and build upon the expertise of the current members of the Section. An important ambition is to combine an investigative approach focused on architectural methods, with an interest in actual building  practice, in other words to connect the thinking and the making.
