Job description

The Community for Learning & Innovation (CLI) is looking for an enthusiastic communication officer, who focuses on increasing the visibility of the CLI together with the community manager. With the different schools and services you strive for a thriving community (on the campus and online) for everyone with a passion for educational innovation.

As a communication officer you have two major areas: events and online.

You initiate and take care of the monthly programming of small scale events in the Education Lab, such as workshops, lectures, network drinks and inspiration sessions for teachers, students and the support staff. You will also be a part of the larger annual CLI events, such as the Future Education Hackathon and the Learning & Innovation bEURs, and you facilitate the events that are initiated by the schools or CLI project leaders. 

In the online area, you will ensure the visibility of the CLI on the website, intranet and socials, such as Facebook and Instagram. You regularly add new content, continuously improve the findability with e.g. SEO activities and you are able to find the right tone in English and Dutch. In addition, you provide the monthly newsletter and other relevant mailings in collaboration with the community manager.

You will be appointed at the Marketing & Communication (M&C) department.

Requirements

University of Applied Sciences level and at least 5 years of relevant work experience. You are initiative-driven, energetic and service-oriented. You are good at organising and a real team player. You easily approach others and are genuinely interested in what concerns the other. You have strong, professional verbal and writing communication skills in both Dutch and English. Knowledge about the academic world is an advantage.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 4 jaar.

We offer a varied job (1 FTE) with excellent labour conditions in accordance with the CAO Dutch Universities (CAO NU). It is a position of 4 years, up to and including December 2023. The salary depends on knowledge and experience, which amounts to (based on a full-time contract) a minimal €2.579, - gross per month and a maximum of € 3.445, - (scale 8, CAO NU).

Erasmus University Rotterdam offers attractive terms of employment, including a holiday allowance of 8%, a year-end payment of 8.3% and 41 holidays per year based on a full-time appointment. In addition, EUR takes part in the ABP pension scheme, and we also offer partially paid parental leave. The Community for Learning & Innovation

EUR aims to strengthen and innovate its education to improve its response to developments like internationalisation, the changing labour market, lifelong learning and the increasing need for digital and flexible education. To encourage this, the Community for Learning & Innovation (CLI) was started in the summer of 2017. The CLI offers a knowledge-network and (financial) support to (non-) academic staff and students who want to improve education. Home of the CLI is the Education Lab in the Polak Building. It houses inspiration rooms for brainstorms and project meetings, an event room and a state-of-the-art broadcast studio for knowledge clips, MOOCs, podcasts, animations et cetera.
