Post-Doc (24 months, 0,8 FTE) in interdisciplinary Public Health with an Interest in Health Policy and Cross-border HIV prevention

Job description

This project focusses on public health and policy aspects of HIV prevention in the EuRegio Limburg. The EuRegio project takes a cross-border, regional, and tailored approach to reducing HIV risk among key populations such as migrants, asylum seekers and men who have sex with men (MSM). The project is currently staffed with a PhD student who will complete a needs assessment and systematically develop an intervention. The post-doc will complement this work, mostly focusing on health policy and building a regional network of health care providers and other stakeholders, with additional room to build an own line of research.

The candidate will work in the Maastricht University’s Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience, Department of Work and Social Psychology, section Applied Social Psychology.

Requirements

A PhD in public health or psychology, with a focus on health policy, prevention, health psychology, or social psychology.

An interest in working in the field of HIV prevention and in health policy at the intersection of regional and European applications, and with high risk (mostly MSM and migrant) populations.

Good communicative and networking skills reflecting the ability to engage and collaborate with multiple and diverse partners.

Good conversational and writing language skills in a minimum of two of these three languages (French, German, Dutch).

An interest in gathering own data. Skills to further analyze qualitative as well as longitudinal experience sampling data produced by the PhD student, or an interest in developing these skills.

An interest in developing and implementing interventions e.g. via Intervention Mapping)

A promising publication track record and ambitions to attract own funding.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 2 years.

The gross monthly salary depend on experience (min. € 2.790,00 - max. € 4.402,00 scale 10, based on a full-time appointment).
