Radboudumc
This project is a tight collaboration between
Experimental Rheumatology at the Radboudumc, and the
Orthopedics department of the CWZ. Our teams contains expert Clinicians with a strong history both in medical care and in clinical research. We regard as a huge merit, that within this project this expertise will be combined with strong expertise in preclinical research. The research group of Experimental Rheumatology in Nijmegen has gained a worldwide reputation in basic and clinical rheumatology research with a track record of >500 peer-reviewed scientific papers.
The department takes part in the research program of the Radboud Institute for Molecular Life Sciences (
RIMLS). The RIMLS trains students and PhD candidates and conducts research in medical research. In this project we aim to unravel mechanisms involved in stem cell driven protection of development of joint pathology in inflammatory osteoarthritis.
Research InstitutesAt the moment there are more than 1,300 PhD candidates at our medical hospital. This number includes PhD candidates on our pay roll as well as external candidates (those employed somewhere else but researching on our premises).
