Job description

General

Education & Student Affairs (ESA) is the central service desk for current and prospective students at Eindhoven University of Technology, and provides a wide range of services, such as student enrollment, help in the choice of study, providing training opportunities such as study management, career and employability guidance, and carrying out projects related to ICT in education. ESA also provides study-related language teaching in English and Dutch as a Second Language (NT2), language advice and skills training. In addition, ESA offers support for, among other things, personal problems, studying abroad, issues concerning student grants and loans, and mediation in grant and funding applications. Student guidance and group training is provided in Dutch and English.

The Student Facilities (SF) department falls under ESA and consists of four teams: Student Coaching, Counseling & Information (SCC&I), TU/e Language Center (TLC), Career & Professional Skills (C&PS) and the Planning & Support Center. The SCC&I team contains student psychologists and student counselors. The team is looking for temporary assistance in the form of a student psychologist.

Job description
  • conducting intake sessions with students;
  • offering short-term psychological help to students;
  • referring students to other institutions (outside the university facilities), such as mental healthcare institutions (GGZ), private therapists etc.;
  • providing group training, aimed at both developing skills and addressing mental health problems;
  • supporting other student counselors (academic advisors, student counselors, student mentors and tutors) by giving advice and being available for consultation;
  • providing support and help during emergencies/ to the emergency team.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychology (preferably with specialization in clinical, developmental or healthcare psychology);
  • at least three years' relevant experience in working with young adults/students (this is not a starter's position);
  • demonstrable experience in intake sessions and short-term treatment;
  • demonstrable experience in group training/group guidance;
  • good command of the Dutch & English language (C1 level) is a must;
  • experience with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT and ACT) is an advantage;
  • experience in helping young adults with ASD, AD(H)D and giftedness is an advantage;
  • experience in working within a multicultural setting is an advantage.

Conditions of employment

We are offering a 0.8 - 1.0 FTE appointment. Depending on the position, age and experience, the gross monthly salary will amount to a minimum of €2.790 and a maximum of €4.402 (scale 10) for a full-time appointment.

We are offering a temporary appointment for a period of one year.

We also offer good fringe benefits, including an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%, holiday bonus of 8% and excellent sports facilities.

An appointment via EUFLEX (TU/e secondment agency) may be an option depending on résumé and work experience.
