Utrecht University's Faculty of Law, Economics and Governance is looking for a Lecturer in Strategy, Management and/or Entrepreneurship.

Job description

Utrecht University School of Economics (U.S.E.) has a vacancy for a Lecturer in Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, or a combination of these disciplines. The Lecturer will be teaching in Strategic Management and/or Entrepreneurship. Optionally, the candidate can reach out to other disciplines, including Supply Chain Management, Innovation Management or Organization Management.

You will prepare and teach courses in the Bachelor's in Economics and Business Economics, and in the School's Master’s programmes, in particular in the Fundamentals of Business Economics programme which is part of the Master’s Science and Business Management. Possibly, you also contribute to the Master's programmes in International Management, Business and Social Impact, or Business Development and Entrepreneurship.

You will take care of qualitatively good teaching in accordance with the academic and departmental guidelines. Teaching is in English. Furthermore, you will be expected to supervise Bachelor's and Master's theses and other research projects by students.

Requirements

The successful candidate is expected to have a thorough knowledge and skills in teaching Strategy, Management and/or Entrepreneurship, and more particularly:
  • has a PhD degree in economics, management or a related discipline. Candidates without PhD degree, but with significant academic teaching experience and positive teaching evaluations, are also welcome to apply;
  • has relevant knowledge and skills in teaching (a subset of) the following disciplines: strategy, management and/or entrepreneurship;
  • has teaching experience in an international academic environment with the proven ability to inspire students from undergraduate to graduate level, as shown by positive students' and peers' assessments;
  • has excellent communication and coordination skills;
  • has an excellent command of spoken and written English.

Conditions of employment

We offer a temporary position (0.7 - 1.0 FTE) for a period of four years. The gross salary - depending on previous qualifications and experience  - ranges between €3,746 and €5,826 (scale 11-12 according to the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities) per month for a full-time employment. Salaries are supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3% per year. In addition, Utrecht University offers excellent secondary conditions, including an attractive retirement scheme, (partly paid) parental leave and flexible employment conditions (multiple choice model).
