Job description

Are you an experienced climate change adaptation and resilience specialist and motivated to link climate issues to policy development, to practice and do so while engaging stakeholders? Are you interested to increase the connection between the internationally agreed Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG13, and their translation and integration in food system transformation and natural resources management? Then this job offer may be of interest to you!

Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation seeks to bring knowledge into action. Therefore, we offer a range of services, all of which are designed to help our partners and clients make progress towards sustainable and inclusive development. We work on processes of innovation and change through facilitating innovation, brokering knowledge and supporting capacity development. For a better understanding of our work, please see our website.

We are looking for a new colleague to join our 'Climate in Action' cluster. We search for someone with a broad vision who can relate climate change issues with concepts and issues like food systems, migration, health, displacement, youth, and circular agriculture. Someone who can contribute to the climate change discussions within the WUR community and internationally, whether at policy level, civil society level, or with the private sector. But also, someone who knows what happens at grassroots level and can provide valuable inputs in the projects, programmes and capacity development activities that we conduct in Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs).

Our work portfolio contains short-term and longer-term agri-food sector development assignments, focusing on translating research into action and creating impact. We implement various anglophone and francophone learning trajectories in which climate change adaptation is a key subject. We are a knowledge partner in many multidisciplinary projects, but we also provide products/services in which climate change adaptation is 'simply' a key element. Projects primarily take place in and require travel to Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, and the MENA region. Francophone Africa is a region that we want to give more attention to.

We provide an inspiring environment with a very friendly and open atmosphere. Colleagues are all highly motivated and committed to contribute to a better world. Join us in our efforts!
