The RSM Project Desk is hiring an Assistant Project Manager (0.8-1.0 FTE) for a project to re-organise and improve our student services and education processes.

Job description

The support of the Project Desk now mainly consists of project management for funded research projects and with this new position its support will extend to education projects within the faculty.

Your main tasks
In this position you will:
  • contribute to a smooth, successful implementation and management of several trajectories to re-organise and improve our student services and education processes, in close cooperation with the project leaders, professional services, and other stakeholders such as the EUR Stepping Up Professional Services programme manager and EUR Education & Student Affairs
  • monitor and ensure timely delivery of the milestones and project deliverables
  • be responsible for the day-to-day management of the projects and ensure up-to-date project reporting with support of a project management tool
  • be responsible for several education projects simultaneously
  • monitor the budget for all the planned project activities in co-operation with the project controller
  • develop project management skills in the support of funded research projects.

Requirements

You are eligible for the role if you have:
  • preferably an academic background on MSc level and one year of experience in project support or similar or taken courses in project management as part of your education
  • affinity with education; experience in student services would be a plus
  • willingness to learn on the job - you will be supported by your line manager
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills, both in Dutch and English (CEFR C1).
  • willingness to work flexibly and able to function well under stress as multiple projects are to be monitored and managed at the same time with sometimes tight deadlines
  • excellent planning and organisation skills, with experience in applying these in a complex and dynamic context.

  • Ability to interact constructively with a variety of stakeholders.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 12 months, with a possible extension until the end of the project.

Employment: temporary, initially for one year and after a successful evaluation the contract can be extended for the duration of the project until March 2024.

The conditions of employment correspond with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU). We offer a 0,8-1.0 FTE contract, initially for one year. Salary is subject to training and experience and may vary from a minimum of € 2,700 up to a maximum of € 4,474 gross per month (scale 9 or 10 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours. A start scale 8 may be instituted.
