The Foundation for Auditing Research (FAR) is a young organization with a big mission. Together with the FAR team, you have the opportunity to firmly establish the organization at the intersection of science and practice. This requires guts, determination, and a broad horizon.

At the same time, FAR is a small team where cooperation and a personal approach are highly valued. In this role you will develop skills in project management and data management and learn to maneuver in a complex multi-stakeholder environment.

What is the challenge?
As Research Data Coordinator, you will implement the Data Gathering program. This means that you are responsible for the proper opening up and transfer of research data from the firms to the research teams. To this end, you are in daily contact with both the firms and the research teams to coordinate planning, status and to answer substantive questions. In addition, you will ensure the correct data transition, in cooperation with our partner CentERdata. The provision of data from public sources is an important service of FAR, you will be the one leading this. Our team of student associates will help you with this. As Research Data Coordinator you report to the Research Program Manager, with whom you also work closely.

What will you be doing?

  • Maintain daily contact with cooperation partners regarding project progress and substantive questions
  • Process datasets according to the FAR protocol
  • Manage the Public Data gathering program
  • Manage our team of student associates, who help with the (public) data collection
  • Help to build and manage a data library as a basis for future research
  • Prepare regular status updates and communicate them to researchers and firms
  • Assist the Research Program Manager by preparing analyses and reports

Requirements

Who are you?

  • Relevant education at (applied) university level
  • During your education you have gained skills regarding data collection and structuring
  • Preferably several years of work experience at a research-driven organization
  • Affinity with financial reporting or willingness to learn about it
  • Experience in managing a team or coaching of junior team members
  • Meticulous, service-oriented, and decisive
  • Enjoys taking responsibility and works independently
  • Can effortlessly communicate clearly with very diverse parties
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Experience with Python, Excel VBA or Stata is a plus

Conditions of employment

What do we offer?
You will be employed by Nyenrode Business University. The salary based on a full-time employment is at least €2.643 and maximum €3.544, depending on education and experience (Scale 8). In addition, you will have 30 holiday days (with the possibility to buy five extra days) and a fixed end-of-year bonus of at least 5.1% (over annual salary and holiday allowance).

The goal of the Foundation for Auditing Research is to provide policy makers with evidence-based insights and enrich the academic community with fruitful research. FAR coordinates the data collection from the nine largest accountancy firms and makes these and sometimes funds available to the research groups to carry out their projects.
