Job description

Within the EE/Control Systems Group of Eindhoven University of Technology there is an open position for a

PostDoc on Model learning in dynamic networks (1 year + 1 year)
  • Are you enthusiastic about modelling problems in interconnected dynamic systems?
  • Do you have a research background in systems and control, machine learning and/or systems defined over graphs?
  • Are you experienced in data analysis and data-driven modelling?
  • Do you find motivation in combining fundamental research with challenging engineering problems in e.g., power networks, health monitoring, multi-agent systems?  
  • Do you have good communication, teamwork, and programming skills?

then you might be the perfect candidate to join our research team in the SYSDYNET project (www.sysdynet.eu), where we are developing new tools and methods for data-driven model learning in interconnected dynamic systems.

Control Systems group

The CS group research activities span all facets of systems and control theory, such as linear, nonlinear and hybrid systems theory, model predictive control, distributed control, machine learning for control, modeling and identification, formal methods in control. The CS group has a strong interconnection with industry via national and European funded projects in a variety of application areas like high-precision mechatronics, power electronics, and sustainable energy (mobility, transport, smart grids). Requirements

  • Ability to conduct high quality academic research, demonstrated for instance by a relevant PhD thesis and/or publication(s).
  • Ability to teach, shown by experience or assistance in teaching and positive evaluations of these teaching efforts.
  • Excellent mastering of the English language, good communication and leadership skills. Note that there is no Dutch language requirement.
  • Be a team player and able to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary context.
