The COOP project is a consortium of ten multi-center studies in older people with COVID-19 in hospital, nursing home or at home. In the consortium data are enriched and harmonized between cohorts to perform new and combined analyses of outcomes of COVID-19 in older patients. Furthermore, qualitative research is performed regarding older peoples’ needs and preferences regarding treatment decisions. As postdoc, you will supervise our Phd candidates, and set up your own research ideas and lead on manuscripts. You will diversify your research skill set in qualitative and quantitative methodology. You are also contributing to consortium management. Lastly, you actively participate in a national network of researchers.
We are looking for a team player who holds a Phd-degree, and has experience with qualitative and quantitative research methodology in cohort studies. You have affinity with ageing and older people. You are also experienced in the guidance of younger researchers (early PhD). Lastly, you’re willing and able to help in consortium management.
Fixed-term contract: 2 years.
You will be employed on the basis of 36 hours per week. Appointment is for two year. Your salary is based on your education and experience and is a maximum of € 4,707 gross per month for a full time position (scale 10 in the Collective Labour Agreement for University Hospitals).

The Main Department of Internal Medicine (HAIG) focuses in the broadest sense on the treatment of diseases of the internal organs, organ systems and general processes in the body (such as immune and coagulation). Treatments are done in coordination with the specialist internal sections of Renal Diseases, Endocrinology, Thrombosis and Hemostasis, Gerontology & Geriatrics and Acute Medicine. The Internal Medicine Training Center coordinates the training of internists in the LUMC and the Leiden region.
