Job description

As part of the Department of Personnel and Organisation Management (OPM) team, you're involved in educational delivery at the bachelor and master level, including our own MSc Human Resource Management (HRM) and RSM's Master in Management (MiM). As our education co-ordinator you play a critical role in planning and supporting educational delivery to enable us to continue to deliver excellent education. We're a diverse group and we apply micro- and macro-perspectives to understand the dynamics of organisations and their employees, and organisations' interactions with their environment.

You work closely with the academic directors (ADs) of MSc HRM and MiM to plan our teaching and educational support needs. On a broader scale, you work with faculty in our department to develop and manage the teaching plans for our activities, including our central involvement in RSM's two bachelor programmes. You achieve this by drawing on your project management experience and putting your solid excel skills to use to develop a new resource plan to support budget management.

You also have regular contact with our department chair and secretaries, along with RSM's programme management and learning innovation teams and our student representatives. Your outstanding interpersonal skills and proactive approach to building relationships are therefore key.

At RSM our main language is English but, of course, many people also speak Dutch. English fluency is therefore a must and Dutch language skills are a benefit.

As you are central to the delivery of our teaching activities, a keen interest in methods of educational delivery and in learning about new techniques and technologies is also important. You put this enthusiasm to use by seeking opportunities to create synergy between our different courses and opportunities to support our faculty in delivering learning innovation.

  • Track and plan teaching and teaching support to identify resource needs, and create longer-term resource plan
  • Coordinate recruiting, training and contracts, sometimes with department secretary, for teaching assistants (TAs)
  • Work with ADs to ensure that teaching resource needs are met
  • Work with ADs and head of department to create long-term resource plans for the department

  • Coordinate annual scheduling process (with teachers and ADs)
Learning innovation
  • Seek opportunities to create synergy between courses and educational activities
  • Work with LIT/Risbo to identify opportunities for innovation

  • Together with department secretary, coordinate thesis coaches and co-reader allocation
  • Develop thesis trajectory from student perspective (e.g., identify development needs and develop resources for Canvas)

  • Review course evaluations to identify opportunities and issues
  • Work with programme advisory committee to identify opportunities to improve student experience
  • Monitor and support issues around student wellbeing
