A motivated and enthusiastic PhD graduate who has a strong affinity with training, teaching and event organisation at the higher level of academia (PhD, postdoc and tenured staff). The candidate must be a good communicator, be a team player but at the same time be able to work independently, have a flexible work ethic, be stress tolerant and an out-of-the-box thinker. Given the fact that PE&RC is a national graduate school, the candidate must be willing to also work at partner institutes in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Leiden and Nijmegen.

As PhD Programme coordinator within PE&RC you will:

• Contribute to the setting up, coordination and organisation of PE&RC training activities, conferences, symposia and workshops (at first supporting, later more independent).
• Support PhD candidates during their PhD process (intake / introduction meetings, confidential advice).
• Facilitate PhD candidates in defining a solid PhD training and education programme as documented in the Training and Supervision Plan (TSP).
• Help organise and teach specific training activities related to the PhD process (e.g. PhD retreats).
• Support in maintenance and development of the PE&RC website and social media.

• A PhD graduate who:
  • Has experience in teaching (didactical skills)
  • Has experience in the organisation of events (courses, workshops, symposia and/or conferences)
  • Is fluent in both English and Dutch (spoken and written)
  • Has insight in the PhD process and related challenges
  • Has affinity with the PE&RC research domain
  • Has experience with software for website editing, databases and development of PR material (posters and flyers)
  • Is flexible (i.e. working hours, tasks, responsibilities, hybrid working)
  • Can cope with a diverse workload and related challenges

Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between € 2.846,= and € 4.490,= gross for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 10). We offer a one year contract with a possible extension for another 1 or 2 years. The intention is to make the position permanent.
