The IPP/IRM/Scholarships Team is looking for an experienced colleague in the field of Joint Programs, both with respect to policy and the process side of Joint Programs. Our work setting within the International Office of Tilburg University is cross-cultural and student-centered.

Job description

The establishment of Joint Programs is encouraged within the University's internationalization strategy. The IO wants to meet the demand from the Schools to carry out the tasks and responsibilities in the field of Joint Programs in a thorough and efficient way, with attention to quality and customization. In addition, the IO wants to support the Schools well in their individual action plans, also where Joint Programs are concerned.

Besides other policy work, within the team, you are responsible for setting up and maintaining various Joint Programs, including Erasmus Mundus Master’s programs and double degree programs. You are also co-responsible for the execution of international projects within the internationalization strategy of Tilburg University and the International Office. 

Your responsibilities 

  • Maintaining existing Joint Programs, such as contract renewals, policy changes, and ongoing issues;
  • Assisting the Schools in the search for appropriate partners for Joint Programs and in the establishment of new Joint Programs;
  • On behalf of Tilburg University, advising and supporting the Joint Programs which are set up within the European University alliance ENGAGE.EU; 
  • Initiating and organizing intensive coordination and cooperation of various organizational units that are involved in running Joint Programs; for example, admissions, coordination of curricula (content + administrative), joint thesis policy, coordination of the Education and Examination Regulations, setting up mobility pathways, quality policy, and coordination of services regarding participating students (e.g. immigration, housing, introduction programs, study guidance, etc.);
  • Serving as a resource and expert on Joint Programs, for staff, partners, and students;
  • Advising on and implementing a number of existing projects within the International Office and/or the Schools, such as co-designing and coordinating an International Partner Week, and Community Building projects.

Requirements

For this position, we are looking for a colleague who: 

  • has completed a Master's program at an academic level;
  • has knowledge and demonstrable experience in the area of Joint Programs management;
  • preferably has work experience as a project manager/policy officer within an International Office/in Higher Education
  • has advisory skills, project management skills, and is good at time management;
  • works independently and proactively, but is focused on connection and collaboration;
  • is able to switch quickly between various parties, can perform many different tasks simultaneously, and can work well in a process-oriented manner;
  • can work efficiently, accurately, and effectively in a demanding and dynamic environment;
  • is stress resistant and can deal well with deadlines;
  • has demonstrable good Dutch and English language skills, both verbally and in writing;
  • possesses excellent communication skills, regardless of a person's position, level, and cultural background;
  • has experience studying, living and/or working abroad (a plus).

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year, after a positive first year evaluation prolonged for an indefinite period.

This is a position for 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) of the full-time working week. 

The salary amounts to a minimum of € 2,960 and a maximum of € 4,670 gross per month for full time employment contract, based on UFO profile policy officer 4 and salary scale 10 of the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. Tilburg University uses a neutral salary system for scaling that is based on relevant education and work experience. 

This is a vacancy for a structural position in accordance with Article 2.3, paragraph 1 of the CLA for Dutch Universities. You will be given a temporary employment contract for the duration of 12 months. After this period, if your suitability has been proven and you continue in the same position, you will receive an employment contract for an indefinite period. 

You are entitled to a vacation allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3% of your gross annual income. If you work 40 hours per week, you will receive 41 paid days of leave per year.
