What you will be doing

Within the department of Education Support, you will be a part of the information literacy and copyright teams. Your tasks as an information specialist include but are not solely limited to the following:

- you will work together with the University Library’s education support staff to develop and deliver information literacy education
- you will work on the development of current and new educational materials and activities in the realm of information literacy
- you will take part in broader education support projects
- you will play an integral role in the (further) development of the University Library’s copyright support point
- you will deliver workshops and training in the area of copyright to students and teachers.

Requirements

Qualified candidates possess:

- a Master’s degree
- experience in teaching courses and workshops
- familiarity or experience with information literacy and/or copyright
- excellent communication and networking skills
- excellent command of English, both spoken and written; B1/B2 level of Dutch preferred.

The following competences are important for this position: presentation skills, flexibility, result orientation and curiosity.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 12 months.

We offer you in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities:

- a maximum salary, depending on qualifications and experience, of € 4,670 (scale 10) gross per month for a full-time position
- a holiday allowance of 8% gross annual income
- an 8.3% end-of-the-year allowance.

After the agreed end date - depending on the outcome of the Result & Development interview and other (internal) circumstances - this employment may be converted into an employment contract for an indefinite period The appointment is linked to the UFO profile of Academic Information Specialist 2.

The department of Education Support
The department of Education Support supports UG students, teachers and researchers in the areas of information literacy, open education, copyright and collection development. The department is looking for a candidate to reinforce the team and help execute and implement the information literacy goals from the University Library’s Strategic Plan.

Who you are
You are a creative, curious, proactive and enthusiastic team player. You have good networking skills and you are focused on the needs of students and staff. You are well acquainted with academic teaching and aware of the latest developments in the area of information literacy. You have excellent oral and written skills in English and preferably Dutch.
