We are looking for a Science Development Officer to strengthen our ODISSEI team.
ODISSEI is the Dutch national data infrastructure for the social sciences. It is a rapidly growing consortium of 43 participating organisations working together to improve the digital research infrastructure in the social sciences. The data infrastructure is unique in the world includes a state-of-the-art supercomputer, data collection, and support for innovative technologies. For more information, see www.odissei-data.nl.
ODISSEI is currently running a large Roadmap project, with a budget of 14 million euros and some seventy employees spread over fifteen implementing partners. In addition, ODISSEI recently was awarded the SANE project. The ODISSEI Coordination Team, based at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, coordinates both projects.
You have a key role in strategically developing ODISSEI and the social science in close collaboration with the rest of the team. You have a broad role covering all aspects of ODISSEI.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
In this position you get a unique opportunity to advance the social science field by developing the rapidly maturing national data infrastructure landscape. You will work with a wide diversity of stakeholders and can develop of significant understanding of that landscape. The position offers substantial possibilities to expand your skills through participation in training (depending on your needs and preferences).
The position is new and therefore includes significant freedom and flexibility in how the responsibilities are executed. Working hours and location are flexible.
The Coordination Team consists of seven employees. The team is quite young and informal. Independence, responsibility, flexibility and self-development are highly valued. Working from home is well organised with a laptop, payment for peripherals and working entirely in the cloud (so no cumbersome remote desktop). You will work at the office at least one day a week. The working language is English.
You are independent, responsible and motivated, with the ability to work flexibly as part of a team. You have a background in social science, with a passion for valorizing, promoting and communicating social research. You are well organised and have attention to detail.

An internationally oriented and varied job in an enthusiastic team, with good working conditions in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).
The start date of this position is [as soon as possible] and you will be based at Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences in Campus Woudestein. The position is for 0.8-1.0 FTE. The salary is dependent on your experience and knowledge and ranges from a minimum of € 3.974 to a maximum of € 5.439 gross per month on a fulltime basis, in accordance with scale 11 of the CAO-NU. In addition, we offer an 8% holiday allowance, an end-of-year payment of 8.3%, and a very generous paid leave scheme. Furthermore, EUR is affiliated with ABP for the pension provision, and we offer partially paid parental leave, fully paid extended birth leave for partners, a personal career budget, work-life balance coaches, discounted collective health insurance, and more.
