The
Chien Lab is looking for a self-motivated PhD or postdoc with a strong background in computational biology to study (single cell) cancer genomics, epigenomics and transcriptomics. We develop tools combining advanced imaging & analysis as well as single cell sequencing and proteomic profiling technologies to address biological questions, particularly in cancer biology.
The goal of the project is to investigate underlying molecular mechanisms of rare & aggressive subpopulations of cancer cells that are responsible for tumor metastasis, recurrence and therapy resistance. The candidate will drive the (single cell) multi-omics analysis efforts of the lab, including (epi)genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics) and identify therapeutic targets (biomarkers or druggable targets) via integrated analysis using different (machine learning-based) models or methods. The candidate will also be involved in a project, aiming to decipher cell lineages of aggressive subpopulations of cancer cells using phylogenetic inference analysis (from single cell data). The successful candidate will also be part of
Oncode Institute, which Dr. Chien is affiliated with.
