Job description

The appointee will work within the Office of Student Affairs at University College Maastricht. UCM offers students a broad range of courses to choose from, covering all scientific disciplines. Due to this freedom of choice, all students have an individual curriculum and consequently scheduling and administration is a complex process.

To complement the team, we are looking for a motivated and preferably experienced educational administrative professional, who likes to be the first point of contact for students.

Tasks:

  • Working in close cooperation with the Board of Examiners, Curriculum Coordinator, as well as internal and external teaching staff.
  • Providing administrative assistance to the Board of Examiners (e.g. collecting assessment plans and credit transfer registration).
  • Processing the grades of all modules, including grades obtained at other programs domestic and abroad.
  • Maintaining and checking student transcripts and grade lists.
  • Assisting the preparation and final check of diplomas.
  • Facilitating the organization of introduction days and graduation ceremonies.
  • Answering questions of students either in person during open office hours or via email.
  • Support other member of the Office of Student Affairs team to facilitate the administration of educational processes where needed.

Requirements

  • Relevant MBO education and working level;
  • Experience with and affinity for students and educational administrative work;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • At least basic verbal and written communication skills in Dutch (including the willingness to learn);
  • experience with SAP-SLM/CORSA is an asset.

  • You are independent, flexible and you can complement the existing team;
  • You are self-motivated;
  • You have an eye for details and like keeping track of student data and records;
  • You can communicate clearly, concisely and tactfully in English (and in Dutch), verbally as well as in writing, taking relevant target groups into account;
  • You are service oriented and approachable.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year.

  • Temporary appointment of 1 year.
  • After this period, an extension is possible.
  • Gross salary will be between € 2.471 and € 3.336 based on a full-time contract (38 hours/week) in accordance with scale 7 (UFO profile Student Affairs Officer, level 3).
