Job description

As a PhD programme assistant at WIMEK, you are the linking pin of an enthusiastic team, consisting of the secretary of WIMEK, the PhD training coordinator, the PhD course and events coordinator, the information & communication officer and a financial administrator.
The PhD programme assistant plays a central coordinating role at the start of PhD programmes and manages the other WIMEK team employees in the tasks that must be performed by them in this phase. (S)he is the central contact person for registration of new PhD candidates, planning and co-organizing introduction activities for the new PhD candidates and supporting the organization of PhD courses, lunch meetings and other activities.

Main tasks:
  • Registration of new WIMEK PhD candidates
  • Planning and coordination of PhD introduction meetings
  • Coordination of the buddy program for new PhD candidates
  • Coordination of TSP and Diploma approvals
  • Supporting the organization of PhD courses, lunch meetings and symposia
  • Making a work schedule for the supporting tasks and activities

Requirements

  • Proactive attitude, someone who thinks along about processes and content.
  • Enthusiastic employee with good communication skills.
  • Good command of the English language and preferably also good command of the Dutch language.
  • Careful and structured worker.
  • Preferably familiar with the WUR organization and PhD trajectories.

Conditions of employment

A challenging position for 0.8 FTE (four days a week). Wageningen University & Research offers excellent terms of employment. A few highlights from our Collective Labour Agreement include:

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between €2.471,- and €3.336 for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 7). You will initially receive a one-year contract, which will be extended to an open-ended contract upon mutual enthusiasm.
