Job description

The department of Medical ethics and anthropology of science are looking for a postdoctoral researcher for an ambitious project with the aim to 1) analyze when and how integrity issues are addressed in different research practices. We do this by analyzing how issues of integrity take shape in everyday routines of doing scientific work and compare these between and within 5 different disciplines. The second aim is 2) to support the development of research practices that safeguard research integrity, by comparing the concerns and solutions within the different disciplines.

The project addresses these questions by using methods of science studies and empirical ethics. The postdoc will engage in participant observation and interviews to detect every day issues where 'good' science’ is at stake. The results will feed into focus-groups to discuss strategies for safeguarding research integrity.

The project is financed by ZONMW - Bevorderen van Verantwoorde Onderzoekspraktijken/ Stimulation of Responsible Research Practices.

Project leaders are prof dr Jeannette Pols and prof dr Amade M’charek.
