Job description

The researcher shall address two main research challenges relevant to automated driving: multi-vehicle conflict resolution and coordinated vehicle motion control. The envisioned methodology consists of three main elements: 1) high-level decision making; 2) low-level nonlinear dynamics and control; 3) realistic simulations via commercial software. In particular, multi-agent optimization and game theory shall be exploited to model multiple intelligent vehicles driving autonomously and selfishly, typically willing to cooperate for improved safety, but not to deteriorate their individual travel time. At a lower level, intelligent control systems shall be designed for improved vehicle motion. Demonstration of the developed methods on autonomous mobile robots is also possible.
