We are looking for:
For team Climate Change at Wageningen Environmental Research we are looking for two enthusiastic and committed (senior) researchers.

We are:
Wageningen Environmental Research (formerly Alterra) is a Research Institute for green space and the environment. WEnR offers a combination of applied and scientific research in a multitude of fields of expertise that relate to our living environment and its sustainable use: knowledge of water, nature, environment, soil, landscape, climate, land use and recreation.

Team Climate Change:
Climate change is an irrevocable phenomenon that will impact every aspect of society and nature. Analysing present and future trends to assess impacts on all sectors of society is essential for the development of solution-oriented management and policy options. Policy makers at every governmental level as well as managers in both small and large private companies seek solutions to protect their assets from the adverse effects of climate. Beyond that, they often also seek to gain from the opportunities offered by climate change and to connect any interventions with non-climate issues to seek synergies and efficiency improvements. The Climate Change team of Wageningen Environmental Research has built up a considerable track record in this complex field, studying interactions between hydrology, land cover and land use (including urban environments) and climate (change) in the Netherlands and worldwide.

Our strategic programme Green Climate Solutions aims to support society to unlock the innovation potential of nature-based solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (mitigation) and to reduce the impact of climate change (adaptation). There is a strong need for evidence based information on nature based solutions that are cost-effective. We are looking for researchers who want to understand and develop business cases for nature-based solutions to urban development, sustainable water management and restoring degraded landscapes.
