The Tilburg Institute of Governance (TIG) at Tilburg University offers the following position Postdoc

Job description

  • the development of the core of the Eyes methodology, which is a collection of coaching materials and two digital tools (using augmented and virtual reality).;
  • review and evaluation the co-design proces through which the tools will be developed.
  • a transnational review of relevant didactic and empowerment-related research as a basis of the concept.
  • a co-design and permanent revision of the EYES approach with selected project end-users
  • the development of training sessions for coaches of NEETS
  • ensuring that the EYES approach will implement state of art of research and contribute to an objective ongoing evaluation and improvement of the approach.
  • the overall project management activities by delivering interim progress reports and further information as required by the Lead Partner of the project.
  • the coordination of the work related to the manual for the EYES approach, including a broad review of transnational best practices from the participating countries and beyond and of related academic research
  • conducting the impact measurement and data collection system jointly with the other knowledge-institutes
  • conducting the final evaluation report including strategies to improve the EYES approach based on the lessons learned together with other knowledge institutes
  • Together with Tilburg Municipality, you will be co-responsible for communication about the project results and activities on the local, regional and national level.
  • You will take part in all seven project-team meetings, all relevant phone conferences and any other physical or non-physical meetings.

  • Academic training in the field of social sciences or economics
  • Completed PhD;
  • Interest in labor market policies, their development and implementation
  • Some affinity with digitization and programming
  • Affinity and / or experience co-creation or collaboration with societal partners
  • Fluent in English
  • Good communicative and team-working skills

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 + 1.5 year.

Tilburg University is rated among the top Dutch employers and has excellent terms of employment. The selected candidate will initially be appointed for a year with the possibility to extend with 1,5 year. Start ASAP but December 1st 2018 at the latest. Selected candidates will be ranked in the Dutch university employment system (UFO). Depending on the candidates’ experience, the starting gross salary will vary € 3,545 and € 4,852 per month (for a full-time appointment) based on scale 11 of the Collective Labour Agreement (CAO) Dutch Universities. Researchers from outside the Netherlands may qualify for a tax-free allowance equal to 30% of their taxable salary. The university will apply for such an allowance on their behalf. The university offers very good fringe benefits (it is one of the best non-profit employers in the Netherlands), such as an options model for terms and conditions of employment and excellent reimbursement of moving expenses.
