Functieomschrijving

As a student adviser you inform, coach and guide students on a range of academic matters, such as study planning and skills development, orientation towards study specialisation and career options. You also offer support to students faced with personal circumstances that may affect their well-being and academic performance. Your main objective is to promote and facilitate study progress and to help students to make the right choices within their study programme.

You interact with academic staff where it concerns feedback of students on for example study load, exams etc. in order to improve quality of education where possible or necessary. Cooperation with teaching as well as support staff from within and outside the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences will be part of the developmental process. In order to assure and evaluate the quality of our services, you will participate regularly in intra and inter faculty meetings and assemblies. As a team member you participate in an (inter)national network of higher education institutions and professional platforms for study and career guidance.
