Job description

Within the faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Science (EEMCS), the department of Electrical Engineering (EE) is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant/Associate Professor (f/m) in Advanced digital hardware.

In this position, you will focus your research on the gradual merge of analog- and digital design into a single design discipline. Digitally assisted analog design refers to the inclusion of digital processing elements within an analog design to boost performance of the analog circuit. On the other side, ‘analog accelerators’ as part of a digital circuit is an emerging field of research.

With the slowing down of Moore’s law, we need to find alternative computing architectures for improving performance and reducing energy consumption. This is why we want to invest in finding alternative digital hardware implementations to reinforce our basis in Advanced Computing Systems and strengthen the computing core of electronic systems.

The challenge

  • You will spend your time 50/50 on teaching and research, a reduced teaching load in the beginning years is the norm;
  • You will give lectures in English. Mastering the Dutch language is not a prerequisite, but naturally a long term goal;
  • We strongly encourage a high degree of responsibility and independence, while collaborating with close colleagues, researchers and other university staff.
