Job description

As a postdoctoral researcher of the CSTM Department:

  • You will lead the UT activities regarding the C5a project (https://northsearegion.eu/c5a), and contribute to other CSTM research projects on the governance of climate change adaptation and mitigation; present research outcomes at academic and professional conferences and publish in high quality scientific journals;
  • You will teach and supervise students within the MSc programme on Environmental and Energy Management (MEEM);
  • You will participate in administrative activities and committees within CSTM.

Requirements

  • You hold a PhD degree in public policy, policy science, climate governance, environmental governance or another relevant discipline.
  • You have experience with comparative and qualitative research methods, with applications in the governance of climate change, water or energy.
  • You deliver high quality research as proven by your publication record in peer-review journals;
  • You have a passion for teaching, and have experience in delivering academic courses;
  • You have mentoring skills and experience to (co-)supervise MSc and BSc students;
  • You have very good communication and presentation skills, and an excellent command of English;
  • You are fluent in Dutch (This is not a strict requirement, but will be an advantage).

Conditions of employment

We offer a one year full-time position in a very stimulating scientific environment. Extension of the contract is a possibility, depending on your performance and the availability of funds.

  • Starting salary will be € 3.255 gross per month;
  • A holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and a year-end bonus of 8.3%;
  • A solid pension scheme;
  • Minimum of 29 holidays in case of full-time employment;
