Job description

In the past years, many studies have investigated which factors influenced public adherence to COVID-19 prevention measures. However, evidence on the role of psychosocial and contextual characteristics remains fragmented. In this project, you will contribute to conducting an expert consensus study to create an updated theoretical model for behavioural public health interventions.

The research will be conducted under supervision of Dr. Sanne Verra (post-doctoral researcher) and Marijn de Bruin (professor of behavioural sciences); both working at IQ Health, Radboudumc. This project is part of a the Be-Prepared (Behavioural Science for Pandemic Preparedness) consortium. Be-Prepared aims to provide in-depth analyses of mixed-method behavioural science data collected throughout the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic and inform preparedness strategies for future outbreaks.

In this project you will work with a post-doctoral researcher on an exciting international project, we will conduct an international Delphi study. We will ask behavioral scientists, public health experts and communication professionals to share their expertise during three meetings: two online and one in-person meeting.

The aim of the project is to develop a robust theoretical framework for understanding and supporting prevention behaviors during major infectious disease outbreaks (such as the COVID-19 pandemic). You will support the post-doctoral researcher in collating relevant literature, organizing the (online) meetings, communicating with international professionals, and analyzing data. This is an excellent opportunity to familiarize yourself with research with both a strong theoretical basis and high societal relevance.

We offer a position for a period of 9 months.
