Your contribution
Concretely, you will be involved in microbiome research on potato tubers of various origins, where the main tasks are:

• Large-scale processing of tuber samples
• DNA and RNA isolations of fungi, bacteria and tubers
• Amplification of DNA and RNA samples using PCR for sequencing
• Analyzing and interpreting acquired sequencing data
• Communicate and report results

We want to contribute to the development of responsible food for a growing world population! To be as successful as possible in this, we are constantly engaged in obtaining new knowledge about potatoes and everything that comes with it. We have started a project team from different disciplines to thoroughly investigate the vitality of potatoes. We are looking for an Analyst Molecular Microbiology who wants to utilize his/her passion and knowledge in the field of microbiome research to make this challenge a great success.

Based on your knowledge and expertise, you want to dedicate yourself to making the difference in this project. You want to provide even better solutions for solving the world food problem and contribute to the success of HZPC. You are independent, but you can work well in a team. You also have a healthy dose of curiosity; you like researching to find the answers. In addition, you have/are:

• a completed hbo study (Bachelor) in the direction of Molecular Microbiology or similar
• knowledge of and experience with DNA and RNA isolation and PCR
• knowledge of microbiome studies, and databases of micro-organisms and sequence data analysis is an advantage
• several years of relevant work experience
• accurate: you know how important it is to work flawlessly and that is always your aim
• strong communication skills
• a firm personality and you like responsibility. You are not afraid to make decisions
• not afraid of large-scale activities and large numbers
