Job description

You will focus on lipid analysis (lipidomics). Your work involves sample preparation, sample analysis as well as data analysis and data reporting. Approximately 50% of the work focuses on operating established analytical platforms within the group. The other half of your work is aimed at the development of novel analytical techniques as well as the supervision of internship students.

Requirements

You have finished a BSc or MSc in chemistry or analytical chemistry. Ideally you have some experience in mass spectrometry based on metabolomics and/or lipidomics. A good English level is mandatory in order to communicate with international collaboration partners and interact with international PhD students within the group. And finally, you have an interest in data analysis and reporting.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 2 years.

You will be employed on the basis of a 36-hour week. You will be appointed for two years. Your salary  is based on your experience and education and is a maximum of  € 3,604 gross per month based on a full time position (scale 8 of the Collective Labor Agreement for University Hospitals).

The Metabolomics Group is actively participating in fundamental as well as clinical research within and outside the LUMC. The group performs cutting edge chemical analysis using modern analytical techniques, such as mass spectrometry, chromatography and NMR analysis.
