Job description

Our research topics include motivation at work; motives and personality; the sex motive; implicit and explicit motive measurement procedures; intrinsic motivation and flow; volition and self-control; visions and goal setting.

Job assignments
• Research on motivation in basic and applied settings under the supervision of Prof. Kehr;
• Publication in international peer-reviewed journals;
•Teaching mostly in German (!) language (5 hours per week for 100% Postdocs, 3 Hours for PhD students) and examinations;
• Co-Supervision of Ph.D. candidates (Postdocs only);
• Supervision of student theses;
• Administrative tasks at the chair; 
• Acquisition of third-party funding (Postdocs only);
• Scientific project management (Postdocs only).

Requirements

We seek accomplished, connected, and motivated applicants with a Ph.D. (for the postdoc position) or Master’s degree (for the Ph.D. student position) in psychology, management (OB), or a related study program. Prior research in the area of motivation research is an advantage.

Applicants should be experienced in advanced quantitative data analyses such as SEM, multi-level analysis, time series analysis, or eye-tracking, or show the skills and motivation to readily become familiar with such methods. It is expected that applicants strive for publications in top tier research journals.

• Excellent doctoral (for Postdoc) or master’s degree (for Ph.D. student) (or finished soon; preferably research master’s degree);
• Interest in / prior experience with research in motivational research;
• Excellent knowledge of quantitative statistical methods;
• Excellent proficiency in English, very good working knowledge of German.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 24 months.
