The faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science attaches great importance to excellent education and wants to give this a strong impulse by offering an interesting and challenging academic career to scientists with a passion for education.
In this position, the emphasis is on providing, renewing and developing high-quality, cutting-edge education within Mathematics. Depending on your background and experience, you will be responsible for teaching some parts of the Mathematics curriculum, which is provided by the Delft Institute of Applied Mathematics (DIAM). You are invited to take a look where you would fit best.
At DIAM we teach the Applied Mathematics BSc and MSc programmes, as well as mathematics courses within other programmes at TU Delft, and national programmes such as “MasterMath”. Together with other (international) universities, we have also initiated the international joint Master’s programme COSSE (Computer Simulations for Science and Engineering). The department is also very active in innovating mathematics education (PRIME). Moreover, it also runs various MOOCs, among which Pre-University Calculus.
We value the great atmosphere at our institute and pride ourselves on our sense of community and the spirit of “getting things done together”, which we combine with mutual appreciation for individual success.
TU Delft is a bilingual organisation. Although an excellent command of both Dutch and English are necessary for optimal performance, a less than perfect command of the Dutch language does not have to be an obstacle to a successful application. We support further development of the Dutch or English language.
The vacancies are at the level of assistant professor or associate professor, depending on background, experience and leadership(potential). TU Delft facilitates and encourages academic careers with an emphasis on education. Successful development along this career line leads assistant professors (Tenure track) to the post level of associate professor and may lead to further promotion to the level of full professor. For strong candidates, a shortened tenure track period is considered.
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities:

It delivers world class results in education, research and innovation to address challenges in the areas of energy, climate, mobility, health and digital society. For generations, our engineers have proven to be entrepreneurial problem-solvers, both in business and in a social context. At TU Delft we embrace diversity and aim to be as inclusive as possible (see our Code of Conduct). Together, we imagine, invent and create solutions using technology to have a positive impact on a global scale.
Challenge. Change. Impact!
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) brings together three disciplines - electrical engineering, mathematics and computer science. Combined, they reinforce each other and are the driving force behind the technology we use in our daily lives. Technology such as the electricity grid, which our faculty is helping to make future-proof. We are also working on a world in which humans and computers reinforce each other. We are mapping out disease processes using single cell data, and using mathematics to simulate gigantic ash plumes after a volcanic eruption. There is plenty of room here for ground-breaking research. We educate innovative engineers and have excellent labs and facilities that underline our strong international position. In total, more than 1,100 employees and 4,000 students work and study in this innovative environment.
