Open and online education is the future. As an educational advisor, you allow as many people as possible all over the world to benefit from the scientific knowledge of TU Delft. You do this by guiding groups of teachers and student assistants (course teams) in developing Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) for the Delft Extension School. Your role is not to develop content yourself: you are mainly involved as an advisor and idea provider. You provide your team members with the feedback, tools and educational insights to make their project a success. You use the palette of knowledge, templates, workshops and materials within your Teaching & Learning Services team. You are part of a young, committed and international team that focuses on training teachers and digitizing education and making education globally accessible.
You usually supervise about twenty course teams at the same time, with one requiring more or a different type of guidance than the other. By asking the right questions in work sessions and listening carefully, you will discover what your teams need and adjust your approach accordingly. You therefore largely determine what your agenda looks like. Development processes take an average of nine months to a year. You are often still involved afterwards, for example to answer questions about providing online education. To help teams further on their way, you also organize various workshops yourself, for example about online engagment, course design or presenting in front of a camera.
You will work together with other learning developers within the Teaching and Learning Services team - a committed and international team of about thirty colleagues, who focus on training teachers, providing didactic advice on various educational issues and in the field of developing online, open and blended education. In addition to these direct colleagues, you will often work together with lecturers and student assistants from all faculties: intelligent, headstrong people, who usually don't hide their opinions. Your challenge is to forge unity, to choose a clear course structure and to motivate your course teams to deliver products that everyone supports. You have an academic level of work and thinking, and a relevant degree.
We have opened this vacancy again due to growth in the team.
You have a Master's Degree in education, preferably in instructional design or educational technology or a comparable level, based on work experience.
Fixed-term contract: 1 year.
