Job description

We are looking for someone who has the ambition to perform rigorous research with high practical relevance that can be published in top journals in the field of Management Science and Operations Research. This exciting position is part of the 'Robust and Light Additive Manufacturing Components for Military systems (ROLIAC)' program, which is funded by the European Union. The goal of the research project is to investigate the added value of additive manufacturing in military supply chains that are set up to deliver spare parts in an area of operation. The candidate will do so by using methods from Stochastic Operations Management. We strive to achieve both impact in practice and publications in top journals.

Start date: 1 September 2023 the latest.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Operations Research, Econometrics, Industrial Engineering, (Applied) Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills and demonstrated competence for quantitative modelling.
  • The ability to work on a challenging topic that has both fundamental and applied research aspects.
  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in English and an ability to collaborate in an international setting.
  • Motivation to develop teaching skills and coach students.

Conditions of employment

  • Full-time employment for four years, with an intermediate evaluation (go/no-go) after nine months. You will spend 10% of your employment on teaching tasks.
