TU/e bachelor's and master's programs have been incorporated into a Bachelor College and a Graduate School respectively. Within the Bachelor College, TU/e currently offers 15 three-year BSc programs. In the Graduate School, TU/e offers 23 Master programs as well as EngD and PhD programs.

The current job offer is at the TU/e department of Mechanical Engineering.

The activities include

The TU/e is participating in the Dutch Growth Fund 'NextGen' that aims to create a comprehensive program on Systems Engineering Education at all levels of higher education (MBO, HBO, WO and LLL) in the Netherlands. This national program, which will run over several years (minimum 3 years), involves several major industrial and educational institutes in the Netherlands. The activities for the Project manager 'System Engineering' relate to the TU/e contributions in the NextGen project, which include:
  • Identification and defining continuous learning lines, consisting of elements such as courses, workshops, modules, in-company trainings, etc. both at national educational institutes and companies engaged in the training of System Engineers.
  • Identification of future needs and levels of education in System Engineering in close cooperation with the industries and companies that are in demand of System Engineers.
  • Identification of gaps in existing learning lines and coordination and planning actions to close these gaps.
  • At the TU/e a post-graduate (EngD) educational program is in place, that trains qualified engineers in System Thinking and System Engineering. One of the additional local tasks of the Project manager will be, based on our experience in the EngD program, to drive a better and deeper integration of System Engineering in the Bachelor and Master programs at the TU/e.
  • You will work in the  Control Systems Technology section of the Department of Mechanical Engineering; you are a sparring partner and advisor to the Dean TU/e Graduate School, the project owner; you liaise with TU/e departments, and with external stakeholders.

Requirements

The ideal candidate preferably has:
  • an academic MSc degree;
  • affinity for education and knowledge institutes;
  • experience in industry with systems engineering;
  • project management experience;
  • the skills to create support among relevant stakeholders;
  • a pro-active attitude to address challenges;
  • the expertise to find his/her way independently within an ambitious, energetic, and sometimes complex organization;
  • excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English and in Dutch;
  • the competency to move processes forward.

Conditions of employment

  • We offer a contract for the minimum duration of the project, which is 3 years. There is however a real possibility of that the project will be extended after this period. Moreover, there are opportunities to grow into other positions at TU/e in related areas.
  • We offer a good competitive salary, depending on education and work experience.
  • Besides that, we offer an annual holiday allowance of 8%, an annual end of the year bonus of 8,3%, a total of 41 days of paid holiday leave and a broad package of fringe benefits (including an excellent technical infrastructure, savings schemes, child care and excellent sports facilities).
