We find it easy to be proud of the extraordinary people we have at Eindhoven University. We invite you to join our team.

Job description

We would love to welcome you as a new colleague for our HR advice team of the Human Resources Management department (HRM).

The position we are now hiring for is for our Data Science Academy JADS, which is based in the former, and beautiful monastery called Mariënburg, based in the center of 's Hertogenbosch. Jheronimus Academy of Data Science - JADS Data Science & AI education

In this Sr HR Advisor role you'll work predominantly in 's Hertogenbosch, together with your HR colleague of Tilburg University, and also partly from Eindhoven as part of a HR team at TU/e itself. We are very flexible towards hybrid working, so also working from home isn't a problem.

About the organisation
JADS is a unique cooperation between the Province of North Brabant, the Municipality of 's-Hertogenbosch, Tilburg University and Eindhoven University of Technology. At JADS, researchers and students work closely with the business community. In addition to education and research, JADS also offers space for innovative, data-driven entrepreneurship and public-private partnerships.

Being part of the HR team of JADS means that you contribute to this entrepreneurial and international academic environment. Besides working together with the diverse and international team of JADS, as an HR Advisor you also will work with colleagues from both universities to make use of the expertise and support of their shared services in HR.

TU/e is a leading international university that educates engineers of the future and pushes the boundaries of science and technology for a better world. An international community of close to 7,000 employees and 13,000 students work and study on the vibrant and inspiring campus.

The HRM department of TU/e consists of approximately 100 enthusiastic colleagues of which 30 HR advice colleagues. In addition to HRAdvice, HRM also comprises the Talent attraction team, Policy, HR Services & E-HRM, Learning & Development and OHSE&R departments. We achieve results together, we engage others, we have a drive for quality and a culture of learning and we are adaptive to change.

As HR advisor you are part of the advice team and will be seconded to a faculty and/or department. Also, you will contribute to the further professionalization and further development of HR policy and advice for the relevant organizational unit. In addition, you will actively participate in university-wide HRM projects.

About You ...
You thrive on finding ways to support managers whose main focus is not on management but on research and education. You can build a relationship with our (academic) managers where you develop from HR advisor to trusted HR partner. You support the manager in keeping an overview, supported by HR data and understanding the business needs, rather than working 'casebased'. Your unsolicited advice is heard and taken seriously.

You really want to know the faculty /or department you work for inside out. This knowledge enables you to advise department board or colleagues of HRM policy or L&D on trends or recurring issues surpassing an individual department. You balance the business approach with a warm understanding of people. Enabling you to coach management and employees in a respectful way, contributing to a smoothly running team or de-escalating complex cases.

You understand HR is a balance act between the advisory role and an operational role when you ensure the processes are correctly set up. You acknowledge the importance of performing your administrative tasks correct and on time. TU/e works with AFAS Insite. You can keep your focus, decide what to prioritize and what not, keep an overview of what needs to be done, when and how. And you are a colleague that contributes to the success of our team. By sharing ideas and contributing to university-wide projects.

And as a bonus we value your humor, we work hard but it is ok to also have fun working together!
