Job description

Are you passionate about improving mental wellbeing and creating a positive impact within a university community? We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Implementation & Communication Manager to join the Student Wellbeing Programme and lead the planning and execution of the implementation of mobile-based digital interventions for behaviour change in the (digital) ecosystem of services and tools provided to students within Erasmus University Rotterdam. The mobile digital tool, ROOM, is theory driven and evidence-based, a developed following a user-centered design.

Job description
As the Implementation & Communication Manager, you will work closely with the project team to ensure the successful integration of digital behaviour change and ehealth interventions within Erasmus University. Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Creating an implementation plan: Develop a comprehensive plan that includes clear goals, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and appropriate evaluation methods to track the success of the implementation.
  • Strategic branding and communication: Prepare a tailored communication strategy and identity for the mobile-based digital intervention for behaviour change, targeting the student audience. Develop creative and effective ways to promote awareness and engagement.
  • Channel exploration: Together with the Student Wellbeing team, Identify and explore potential channels and platforms for the successful implementation of the digital intervention at Erasmus University, ensuring maximum reach and adoption among students.
  • Stakeholder management: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders involved in the implementation, including university staff, mental health professionals, student organizations, and relevant departments.
  • Service design and business processes: Supporting team in applying service design principles to ensure a seamless user experience and optimize the app's integration within existing university processes. Identify areas for improvement and propose streamlined business processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Communications and campaigns: Oversee the management of communications, campaigns, and events related to the implementation of the digital tool, collaborating closely with the team to ensure consistency and effectiveness.

Project Timeline

The implementation timeline for the digital tool at Erasmus University Rotterdam is as follows:
  1. "Soft" implementation in January 2024: This phase aims to recruit participants for a Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) of the digital tool. The target is to enroll approximately 500 students.
  2. Full release in September 2024: The digital tool will be made available to all EUR students, allowing widespread access and benefit.

Requirements

The following skills and competencies are relevant for this position:
  • Project management: Required experience in planning, coordinating, and executing complex projects in the digital behavior change interventions and e-health products domain.
  • Communication and branding: Strong written and verbal communication skills both in Dutch and English, with the ability to create compelling messaging and brand identity for a younger target audience. Experience in designing and implementing communication strategies is required.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Proven ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including students and university staff. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, and familiarity with the structure of large (public) organizations (such as a university) is needed.
  • Marketing and event management: Proficiency in marketing principles and event management, preferably already having successfully organized campaigns and events to drive engagement and awareness.
  • Adaptability and initiative: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, prioritize tasks, and take proactive measures to address challenges. A self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Research and evaluation: Some research skills are required for the evaluation of the implementation plan. As a bonus, knowledge in the domain of Implementation Science is favoured for a theory-driven approach to the implementation.
  • Background education: a Master degree in a relevant field (marketing, communication, behavioral sciences or behavior change, implementation science, etc.) is a minimum requirement.

Conditions of employment

We offer you an internationally oriented and varied job in an enthusiastic team, with excellent working conditions in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU).

The start date of this position is 01-OCT-2023 and you will be based at the General Management Directorate (ABD). This position is for 0.6 fte - 0.7 fte. The salary is dependent on your experience and knowledge and ranges from a minimum of € 3.226 to a maximum of € 5.090 gross per month (Scale 10) on a full time basis (38 hours), in accordance with the CAO-NU. The contract is entered into for the duration of 1 year.

Academic Affairs (AZ) works at the policy level on the (inter)national strengthening and innovation of education, research and valorization of the Erasmus University Rotterdam. AZ carries out its tasks based on strong policy knowledge and a relevant network in the fields of research and education.
