Job description

The faculty of Civil Engineering & Geosciences (CEG) strives to make a meaningful contribution towards solving current societal challenges, such as impacts of urbanisation, climate change, adaptation and mitigation, transition to sustainable energy sources, the improvement of health and well-being, and equality and inclusiveness. CEG is an international frontrunner in research and education in engineering and geosciences.

As strategic data analyst (formal job name within CEG: Faculty Information Coordinator) you excel in delivering essential information based on data analysis. You use this information to advise the faculty management team, for example on faculty policy for education, research, human resources and finance. Therefore you will work closely with colleagues from Education & Student Affairs, Graduate School, Contract Management, HR, Finance, Library, and Data Stewards. Furthermore, you will be part of the university Faculty Information Coordinators team.

You will consult with the other faculty information coordinators on a regular basis and will be asked to collect and analyze data on important university themes. You will think (and act) about the (re)design of operational processes within the faculty concerning data and information. Coordinated by the Information Manager Faculties you will cooperate on inter-faculty activities and advise on the design and set-up of central systems and applications.

You work with data derived from different source systems and you excel in combining and analysing the data and transforming it into clear, (re)usable and verifiable management information and advices. For this purpose you work with analysis and visualization tools like Tableau, Business Objects, and other approved university tools. You are aware of the most important relevant internal and external trends on data, systems and tooling. You are a strategic and (positive) critical sparring partner for the leadership team within the faculty.

  • Have good people skills.
  • Have a good level of English and willingness to learn Dutch.
  • Strong analytical, strategic and communicative skills to explain to and convince different target groups.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 jaar.

  • A salary based on scale 11 of the CAO for Dutch Universities with a minimum of €4,332.00  and a maximum of €5,929.00  gross per month based on a fulltime contract (38 hours), plus 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
  • An excellent pension scheme via the ABP.
  • The possibility to compile an individual employment package every year.
  • Discount with health insurers.
