A PhD at Radboud University

Every year, we welcome around 350 aspiring researchers for their PhD. As a PhD candidate, you can conduct research on a wide variety of themes and topics. Combining various scientific disciplines allows you to delve into interdisciplinary research.

Radboud University's research is focused on the complex issues of today and tomorrow. And with our world-renowned research facilities and institutes, you will have many opportunities to conduct groundbreaking research.

Our campus

Nijmegen: Old city, young vibe

Although Nijmegen is the oldest city in the Netherlands, it remains young at heart. The city is known for its vibrant cultural scene, with festivals like the Walk of the World, music venues, and arthouse cinemas. Day or night, there's always something happening.

You can stroll through expansive city parks or explore winding streets lined with historic buildings. Prefer nature? Walk along the Waal River, cycle across one of its bridges, or visit the nearby city beaches, forests, and nature reserves — or even cross the border into Germany.
