Application procedure

If you are interested in (one of) the PhD positions, please use the ‘apply’ button. You need to upload the following documents, in pdf-format.

• A cover letter explaining your motivation (including the motivation for applying at the ICS and an explanation why you consider yourself as a suitable candidate for the preferred project(s).
• A detailed Curriculum Vitae, including relevant extra-curricular activities and work experience.
• Copies of diplomas, a list of your courses taken, and grades obtained, and a proof of ability to communicate and write in English (Certificate and/or writing sample).
• Contact information of two references.
• A copy and the title of your master’s thesis (or an unfinished version).

The deadline of application is 8 March 2026 (23.59 Dutch local time). Interviews will be conducted on 13 and 14 April 2026. There will be an (online) interview with the ICS-board immediately followed by an interview with the project supervisors.

Invitations for interviews will be sent by email after 24 March 2026.
