We are looking for a proactive and service-oriented junior HR Advisor (0.8 to 1.0 fte) to strengthen the HR advice team of the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science (M&CS) and the Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS) based in Den Bosch.

Information
In this all-round HR advice position as part of the local HR team of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, you will deal with all aspects within the broad field of HR. You will:
  • Provide first-line HR support to the managers of the department of M&CS and JADS, answering questions related to HR policies, procedures, contracts, and employment conditions.
  • Assist HR Advisors and HR Business Partners with casework, including absence management, performance processes, and employee relations topics.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure timely data entry in the university’s HR systems.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the HRM Service to continuously improve processes, services, and employee experience.
  • Stay up to date with university policies, collective labor agreement, and HR procedures, seeking guidance when needed.


About your colleagues

The HRM department consists of approximately 130 enthusiastic colleagues. You are part of a team of 25 HR Advisors and regularly meet and exchange ideas and best practices. You also work closely with the HRM colleagues of HR services, recruitment, policy, development and other internal experts. You are seconded to the department of M&CS and JADS where you work closely with the HR team (HR advice & HR services).

The current position is specifically for the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science and the Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS). We expect you to work one day a week at the JADS location in Den Bosch in addition to working for M&CS at the campus in Eindhoven. We are an on campus community but we do also offer the opportunity to work remotely.

The department of Mathematics & Computer Sciences is one of the larger departments of the TU/e and is still growing. At JADS we do “Cool stuff with Data”, JADS is a collaboration between TU/e and Tilburg University, located in the beautiful 'Marienburg' in the heart of Den Bosch.

The HR topics we are working on are optimizing processes, increasing efficiency in the way of working and in collaboration with other supporting staff and strengthening leadership.

Requirements

  • A recently obtained your HRM diploma or hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a different area but are eager to learn.
  • Excellent oral and written command of both in Dutch and English.
  • Strong communication skills, you listen, seek to understand and get to the heart of the matter easily.
  • Well-organized, able to keep track of multiple tasks and deadlines, respond in time.
  • A positive service-oriented attitude towards staff with different academic and cultural backgrounds


About you:

  • You are at the early stages of your career as HR professional and eager to develop your skills in giving advice to management and employees on the standard HR procedures and HR processes, the use of HR instruments and by participating in (TU/e wide) projects by providing input.
  • You can work independently and are able to judge when to seek guidance and when you can confidently proceed on your own. You carefully assess the possible impact of your advice for the manager, the team, the department or the university as a whole.
  • You are a colleague that contributes to the success of our team. By sharing ideas, supporting colleagues and contributing to university-wide projects.
  • You are aware the operational role is an important part of your position. You ensure the processes are correctly set up and acknowledge the importance of performing your administrative tasks correctly and on time. TU/e works with AFAS InSite.
  • You have a high degree of perseverance and a warm personality. You are able to connect with all kinds of people.
  • You have a positive attitude, are used to think in terms of opportunities, and are result-oriented.

  • A monthly salary of minimum €3.382,- ("aanloopschaal") to maximum €5.057,- for full-time employment, depending on your knowledge and experience (scale 8/9 collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities).
