Job description

For over 30 years, TIAS School for Business and Society has committed itself to develop leaders who serve society by transforming business. TIAS believes business exists to serve society and can help to solve global societal challenges. The idea behind this vision is that business is no longer detached from the broader issues of society and can no longer act as isolated economic entities. At TIAS, the concept of Creating Shared Value is integrated in all research and education. Long-term business strategies, new sustainable business models, stakeholder engagement and innovation play an important role in all its curricula.

The Supervisory Board of TIAS is now looking to appoint a new Dean and Director who will serve as the chief academic, fiscal and administrative officer of TIAS. In this capacity, she/he is expected to provide strong leadership and support for the strategic and budget planning cycles, as well as the overall development of the Business School. The Dean will hold responsibility for developing and implementing a clear and actionable vision for growth and excellence to further the mission of TIAS, advance its international footprint and improve its overall standing. The Dean and Director will define the strategic agenda of the School, including roadmaps to support digital business transformation and international market strategy.

The new Dean and Director will be a creative and global visionary, and a dynamic, collaborative, charismatic, and energetic leader. She/he will inspire faculty, staff, participants, sponsors, and partners, as well as engage the business community to build and maintain fruitful and sustainable partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

The Dean and Director will navigate the School through an ambitious growth path and should therefore engender trust and respect through a mature leadership style and a deep sense of service. She/he should also evidence experiences in fundraising and developing major (corporate and institutional) partnerships and demonstrate a natural ability to effectively build and leverage professional networks and community engagement initiatives. She/he has an innovative and entrepreneurial personality with an appreciation for, and strong desire to, promote both traditional and non-traditional didactical methods, curricula development and delivery modes of learning.
